Terms & Conditions
These Terms govern your use of Career Insights, operated by JD Online Stuff.
Last updated: 2 August 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
Career Insights ("the Service") is operated by JD Online Stuff ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or continuing to use the Service you enter into an agreement with JD Online Stuff on these Terms. You can contact us at support@jdonlinestuff.com.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By using the Service you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service. You confirm you are of legal age in your country and, if you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, that you have authority to bind that organisation.
3. What the Service does
Career Insights interviews you about your work, study, hobbies and life experience and uses artificial intelligence to identify transferable skills, suggest careers, produce learning plans and generate reports. It is a self-guided career reflection tool. Assessments are stored in your browser unless you export them.
4. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:
- use it for any unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive or abusive purpose, or to send spam;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- upload malware, probe, scan or otherwise interfere with the security or integrity of the Service, or scrape or overload it by automated means;
- attempt to circumvent usage limits, throttling, supporter codes or other technical restrictions;
- reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the Service.
5. Generative AI: prohibited and acceptable use
The Service uses generative AI models. You must not use it to generate or attempt to generate illegal content, sexual content involving minors, hate speech, harassment, deepfakes or impersonation, malware, or content designed to defraud or mislead, and you must not attempt to jailbreak, prompt-inject or otherwise bypass the model's safety controls.
You are responsible for the prompts and material you provide, for having the rights to any content you upload (such as a CV or LinkedIn export), and for how you use the outputs.
We may moderate content: we can filter or refuse outputs, remove or restrict content, and suspend accounts or access where these rules are broken.
6. Accuracy of AI outputs
AI outputs — including skills, scores, career suggestions, learning plans, translations and coaching answers — may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. They are for general guidance only and are not professional career, legal, financial, medical or immigration advice. You should verify anything important before relying on it, and you remain responsible for your own decisions.
7. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Service, including its software, design, branding and documentation. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for personal, educational or non-profit career development, as described in our usage licence. You keep ownership of the content you enter, and you grant us a limited licence to host and process it solely to provide the Service to you. Rights-holders who believe content infringes their rights can contact support@jdonlinestuff.com; we will review takedown requests and may terminate access for repeat infringers.
8. Service availability
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, and we may change, suspend or withdraw features at any time. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
9. Payments, donations and supporter codes
Core use of the Service is free. Optional one-time donations help cover AI running costs and return a supporter code that lifts usage throttling for a limited period. All donations are one-time payments; there are no subscriptions and nothing renews automatically.
Payment, billing, tax and cancellation mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. See our Refund Policy for refunds.
10. Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay for something you have ordered, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate our acceptable use rules. You may stop using the Service at any time; because assessments are stored in your browser, clearing your browser storage removes them.
12. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special losses, including loss of profits, data, opportunity or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from content you submit, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
14. Changes, governing law and contact
We may update these Terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above shows when. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law in your country of residence says otherwise.
